Five years ago, SB863 was implemented for the California Workers’ Compensation system. Recently the WCIRB did an analysis and found that the reforms, which were championed by CA Governor Jerry Brown, not only lived up to their promises, but they exceeded expectations! According to the analysis, medical costs decreased a cumulative 17% from 2011 through 2015, a savings driven largely by lower utilization of services.
