The drug formulary is essentially a state-sponsored cost containment mechanism that can result in fairly substantial savings, both by way of promoting cheaper (generic) drugs, as well as eliminating costly Utilization Review on the included drugs. The addition of more than two dozen drugs to the formulary effective October 1st will assist in the efficient administration of medical care for injuries, and will help our member districts save money through lower drug costs. You can access the full list of the order and revised formulary list on the DWC website here.
